Mars Motel is looking for a versatile, top level drummer who has strong experience in song-writing, improv, studio and live work. Ideally this new drummer will be interested in joining our project full time and eventually looking to become a main song-writer / core member (We are not looking for hired players at this point in time). Our past drummer moved to LA during the pandemic, but we used to rehearse 1-2x a week and would gig at least 1-2x a month. We have been working on a lot of music in the studio over the past two years, and are now looking to bring our new music back to the stage. Before pandemic, we were playing to fantastic crowds, selling out Mercury Lounge and Bowery Ballroom. Our music ranges across a lot of genres, so we need a drummer who can move and groove and serve the songs above all else. All the studio songs have set sections, but we look to take our songs further live, and improv is a key part in the live sets.
