JOB SUMMARY: The Chimney Mason is responsible for accurately assessing and repairing the chimney within standard in accordance with applicable codes and regulations. The Chimney Mason will inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, and perform all related repairs within agreed upon timeframes with the customer. REPORTING: The Chimney Mason reports to the President REQUIREMENTS: • High school diploma or equivalent • Valid driver license with demonstrated clean, safe driving record • Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions clearly • Sound knowledge of chimney repair, fireplace repair, stone masonry construction • Minimum five years experience or equivalent training and education. WORKING CONDITIONS • This position will work in multiple environments either indoor or outdoor settings with fluctuating temperatures. • Ability to lift, climb, twist, bend, work in tight spaces for frequent or infrequent intervals. • Ability to work from rooftops. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Maintain and take care of company provided vehicle and equipment • Being the face of our company to our customers – work is professionally completed and is your best work • Chimney Repairs • Chimney Sweeping • Fireplace Construction and Repair • Stone and brick masonry • Water leak repairs AUTHORITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Will provide direction and guidance to the masonry helper • Proactively interact with and delight the customer • Inform President of any problems/issues on job site ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform all work within the required estimated timeframe • Collect payment at time of services rendered • Maintain and keep President informed of any company equipment problems, or repairs that may be needed • Ensure that your assigned truck is always clean and well-maintained • Ensure all material and tools are accounted for before leaving to job site • Chimney repair to include but not limited to: inspections, tuckpointing, sweeping, rebuilding, relining, concrete crowns, rain caps and dampers • Fireplace services to include but not limited to: Refacing, smoking issues, installation of wood burning/gas inserts, and outdoor fireplace construction/repair • Stone and brick masonry and construction • Water Leak services to include but not limited to: Chimney flashing repair, bad masonry diagnosis, mortar cover, and improper flue sizing, • Attend and participate in training programs and meetings as required • Complete all paperwork with attention to detail and in a timely manner • Other ad hoc duties as assigned MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE • Rework • Customer satisfaction • Efficiency-% of jobs completed within required timeframe • Upselling services to include maintenance agreements and chimney sweep services
