PROVIDENCE, RI — Five more businesses in Rhode Island were cited for violating coronavirus safety procedures. The businesses were spread across the state, with one each in Westerly, Johnston, Middletown, West Greenwich, Providence and East Providence. The COVID-19 Task Force, a partnership between the departments of Health and Business Regulation, gave perfect compliance scores to more than 200 businesses following safety inspections. Businesses that violate regulations for masks and social distancing are issued either a compliance order, which allows them to remain open, or an immediate compliance order, which requires that the business close until the violations are addressed. Some businesses that are mostly compliant but have a few egregious issues are given combination orders, which allows the business to stay open, though the specific area in violation, such as the bar, must close. The businesses are listed below. Only compliance and combination orders were issued in this round of inspections. Ju Sushi, Westerly Ocean State Body Builders, Johnston Crown Fried Chicken, Middletown Ray's Service, West Greenwich Broadway Express Mart, Providence Merrill Lounge, East Providence (combination order)
