It's back to school week in Rhode Island, and students and teachers across the state are returning to classrooms and logging into distance learning from their homes. Gov. Gina Raimondo, Education Commissioner Angélica Infante-Greene and Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott, the director of the Rhode Island Department of Health, all supported a fully in-person return to class for students, except for Central Falls and Providence, which did not meet the threshold for a full return. "It is our expectation that all kids are back in school by Oct. 13," Raimondo said the day in-person classes were approved, encouraging schools to take a slow approach to the return.
