Trauma occurs in all aspects of life. Are you ready? This extensive two day course is our most popular course we offer. It is designed for folks with little to no medical or first aid training. We teach the student how to identify and treat severely injured casualties/patients by utilizing hands-on skills practice and plenty of scenario-based training. Throughout the course, each student will practice each skill learned during the lecture portions. The student will also participate as individuals and in groups; in scenario-based training dealing with one or multiple injured persons. Some of the subjects covered in this course: - Medical Legal Issues - Scene Safety - Patient Assessment - Penetrating & Blunt Trauma - Identify and treat severe chest injuries; sucking chest wounds, tension pneumothorax. - Impaled Objects - Proper use of tourniquets, pressure dressings, hemostatic agents - Eye injuries - Medical Emergencies; Stroke, Diabetic, Seizures - Fractures & Sprains; Broken Bones - Thermal Burns - Environmental Emergencies o Animal bites & stings o Heat related injuries - Dehydration; Caleb’s almost famous lecture - Identify and treat for shock - Movement of Patients, short distances and long distances - Evacuation Options - First Aid Kits & Equipment Selection
