We use a Strength appproach to mental health recovery within an interactive classroom type group setting Open to adults 18 years old and over we provide a safe place to meet together to support each other as peers as we walk forward in our mental health recovery journey. We use the workbook named Pathways to Recovery found on Amazon.com for review. Doors open at 5 Pm with group beginning at 5:30 PM and ending at 7:15 PM to allow clean up of room. we explore the journey in the topics below: 1. how to write long and short term goals towards our visions and recovery goals. 2. How to add to our support systems 3. How to share our stories with others 4. Motivation for the journey. 5. Attitudes, behaviors, and Cognition 6. how to think positive instead of negative 7. finding our strengths and gifts 8. pitfalls that keep us from continuing our recovery journey 9. self-stigma 10. creativity and arts in healing No childcare is provided. Snakes can be donated along with sodas and water for the group. Call 502-523-9587 if you wish to donate these items. Group will be over an 8 week period as long as we can obtain an open room at the library. We could move to a coffee shop or other in-kind donated room space for other group times. Some printed material will be provided weekly. The workbook is not needed to attend. we will discuss this in group.
