Yang’s Braised Chicken Rice, the wildly popular Chinese brand with a signature menu item, celebrated the grand openings of its new locations in Rowland Heights and San Gabriel on Saturday, Oct. 26. The Rowland Heights restaurant, which is the largest Yang’s Braised Chicken Rice in the world, is situated at 1355 Nogales St., and the San Gabriel location at 140 W. Valley Blvd. #101. Both locations build on the brand’s successful U.S. expansion as well as its global popularity. “It’s an exciting time for us as we take our beloved concept to Los Angeles County,” said CEO of the Yang’s Braised Chicken Rice U.S. group Xinyu Zhang. “Our Huang Men braised chicken, which is a staple of the well-known Shangdong-style, Lu Cai cuisine, is steeped in tradition. The authenticity of our preparation and ingredients create an experience for our guests that is unlike any other.” In addition to the new locations in Rowland Heights and San Gabriel, the brand will be opening locations throughout Southern California in Anaheim, Buena Park, Fountain Valley and Ontario by the end of 2019. The brand currently has locations in Tustin, Lake Forest, Aliso Viejo and, most recently, Santa Ana. “We’re proud to call Southern California our home in the United States. The people here have been so receptive and loving of our signature menu item,” said Zhang. “We look forward to expanding our presence even more throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties.” The celebrated restaurant’s single menu item got its start when founder Xiao Lu, Yang’s grandmother passed down the secret recipe for the sauce. With years of culinary training under his belt, Yang began lovingly adapting the sauce of the braised chicken recipe and added rice before launching it at his fast casual restaurants in 2011.
