It's March 27, which means the 94th Academy Awards Live Stream or as everyone calls them, the Oscars, are just hours away. After months of film festivals and campaign events, as well as a few Omicron delays and another round of campaign events, this year's nominees are ready to celebrate at the Dolby Theater, assuming that some of the controversies surrounding this year's show don't get in the way. Hollywood's biggest night has finally arrived. To ensure that you don't miss out on any of the excitement, we've compiled a complete guide on how to watch the Oscars 2022 ceremony. This year's show, which is officially known as the 94th Academy Awards, honors what the Academy of Motions Pictures Arts and Sciences consider to be the best films released between March 1 and December 31, 2021. The 2022 Oscars are being produced this year by film producer Will Packer, most known for his work on shows and movies like Being Mary Jane, Straight Outta Compton, Girls Trip, and Little starring Issa Rae and Marsai Martin. The Academy Awards return this weekend to celebrate a standout year of film releases. With vaccinations now widely available, theaters saw record-breaking ticket sales as moviegoers seemed more willing to return to auditoriums to watch highly anticipated releases. But theaters haven’t completely edged out streamers — Netflix swept up a dozen nominations for its critically acclaimed drama The Power of the Dog and several more for its doomsday comedy Don’t Look Up. Folks with traditional cable bundles or an antenna are already teed up to watch the event live on ABC when it airs this evening. But if you’re short the hardware or a cable box, several services will carry the coverage as well. The 94th Oscars will air at 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, on ABC. For the first time ever, the awards show will be hosted by three women - Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes. LIVE STREAM: ABC on fuboTV (free trial) Performers will include an All-Star Band featuring Adam Blackstone, Travis Barker, Sheila E. and Robert Glasper; D-Nice, the Samples Choir, Stephanie Beatriz, DJ Khaled, Jennifer Garner, H.E.R., Tiffany Haddish, Tony Hawk, Bill Murray, Elliot Page, Kelly Slater and Shaun White. The 2022 Oscars are set to be “more thrilling” than ever before for those planning to watch at home. The 94th Academy Awards telecast won’t be airing eight of the 23 categories in an attempt to make the ceremony “more thrilling” — and in hopes to repair abysmal ratings from last year that hit an all-time low. Academy President David Rubin sent out a letter to members in February explaining the change — which has celebs like Jessica Chastain, who feels every category is worth televising, up in arms. This year’s unprecedented Oscars ceremony made headlines due to the Academy’s decision to pre-record eight categories including documentary short, film editing, makeup and hairstyling, original score, production design, animated short, live-action short, and sound in an effort to shorten the awards ceremony. “The Power of the Dog” and “CODA” have a narrow race for Best Picture, with its respective streamers Netflix and AppleTV+ seemingly set to come out on top either way. Film’s biggest night is just getting started, and in the meantime, see the stars revel in the back-to-in-person excitement on the red carpet. The red carpet has commenced on Hollywood’s biggest night of the year. The 94th Academy Awards kick off Sunday evening at the Dolby Theatre and nominees are dazzling before the show. Among those nominated, Variety highlighted Ariana DeBose, Kristen Stewart and Jessica Chastain as some of the year’s best dressed. Previous appearances this season included “West Side Story” star DeBose in a daring Giorgio Armani suit during the film’s L.A. premiere and Stewart’s silky ensemble at the Venice premiere of her intense turn as Princess Diana in “Spencer.” Airing tonight, the 94th Academy Awards will feature studio blockbusters and independent films alike up for gold statuettes. The most-nominated films this year include The Power of the Dog with 12 nominations, Dune with 10, and West Side Story with seven. As for Best Actor and Best Actress awards, fans are especially eager to see if Kristen Stewart will take home gold for Spencer, while Will Smith and Andrew Garfield appear to be front-runners in the Best Actor categories for lead and supporting actors, respectively.
