TraumaTALK: Trauma in the Classroom Part 2 Live presentation with Professional Development credit on Saturday, April 2nd, at the Children’s Assessment Center. Training followed by Q&A opportunity with experts in children’s mental health!This two-part, three-hour evidence-based presentation and Q&A provides an effective trauma-informed training and professional development resource for educators K-12, school administrators, mental health professionals, foster parents, caregivers, and staff with child-oriented agencies. Educators and other professionals working with children are often on the frontlines of child trauma, which manifests itself in many ways in the classroom. The COVID-19 pandemic and long periods of social isolation may have had traumatic effects on many children, which could present challenges in the 2021-2022 school year. This engaging presentation will help educators and other professionals recognize the unique opportunity to identify trauma’s effects in the classroom and help children on a path to healing. This Professional Development Activity is approved by Texas Psychological Association (TPA): Three hours of Professional Development credits for psychologists, licensed specialists in school psychology, licensed psychology associates, social workers, and counselors. Dates and Pricing Three-hour training is given by Chester Street Foundation’s Founding Director & CEO, Shawn Alex Nemeth (a trauma survivor), and has been vetted by licensed mental health professionals.
