Join us in a conversation exploring confidence and empowerment, and how to fake the funk when necessary. To close out Women's History Month, The Joy Room Chicago is hosting Uncover Your Confidence: Scaling Up Workshop series for creatives and small business owners. Join us to discuss how we as women hide within ourselves and can take steps to show up confidently in all aspects of our lives. This workshop will be led by dancer/model/actress, Angela Townsend, and co-founder of Womxn Vibe and partner & electrologist with Electrolysis For You, Christina Wilborn. This evening will include networking, thoughtful discussion, and individual portrait shoots taken by Angie Star Studios. About the speakers: Angela Townsend (she/her): Born & raised in Chicago, Angela started performing as a salsa dancer at six years old and has performed across the country for 20+ years. Angela signed with 10 MGMT and 10 Talent Agency in 2020 as a model and actress, and has credits with Crate & Barrel, Converse, Joe Fresh Goods, and Showtime’s The Chi. Angela is the co-founder & Executive Director of Sexpectations Chicago, a sexual health education collective, and co-founded Align Chats, a series of events created to encourage discussions for women of color and build community. Christina Wilborn (she/her): Christina Wiborn is co-founder of @womxnvibe, a weekly dance class, & a Licensed Electrologist at Electrolysis For You. As a fulltime wife and mom of 3 she identifies as a hope dealer who encourages and empowers womxn to live in their authentic selves, unapologetically. WomxnVIBE began with the passion of dance and wellness, and the vision has expanded to more ways of encouraging and empowering womxn. Currently with her partner, Mallory, WomxnVIBE offers sensual dance classes and incorporates ways for womxn to ground themselves in their feminine power. While teaching these classes, Christina was introduced to the transgender community where she learned more about electrolysis, permanant hair removal. This introduction coupled with having a successful family member who is an electrologist, Christina ventured into this career change to continue to assist both the transgender community and women with horomonal imbalances. Through both WomxnVIBE and EFY, she has combined passion and purpose by helping others. "Above all else, choose love." - The bible, allegedly.
