How'd they do it in '77?

Description

I mean, there were plenty of cool, bored people stuck in a similar malaise. No social media - and yet, tons of cool bands started. How'd they do it? It doesn't seem so easy to do nowadays. So, my name's Jeremy. I live in Uptown/Andersonville. I have a car and a day job. Got an amp, got some guitars. I have some moderate chops, but nothing too embarrassing. I'll just try to make this simple. I'm a guitarist. I got a Mosrite (okay, two!) and a mission. I'm ready to start a fun, rockin' band with some smart, cool, creative people. I could list a bunch of bands I really like, but I'm not sure that adds to anything. I guess I'll say Ricky Wilson (B-52s) is my guitar hero and my genre is, if distilled to anything, "dorkopunk." I put a really small sampling of songs I've recorded in my bedroom over the last couple years here: https://jsorenson.bandcamp.com/ If those sound cool enough to you, don't buy 'em, just send me an email instead! I sing on these, but I don't really care to be the singer. Maybe you could! Maybe you play bass or drums or drum machines or keyboards or whatever else works. A cover here and there is cool, but I prefer to do originals. We'll write them collaboratively or we can bring material we have and jam things out. I'm not worried about your "pro gear" at this point. Beginners/novices are fine too. As long as you have some work ethic, a sense of humor, creativity, a critical mind, no hard drug habits (420's cool), blah, blah, blah, this'll be fine. I dunno, I hope this works, because I just really want to start a band.
