From CBS San Francisco:
HAYWARD (CBS SF) — BART on Thursday canceled the final planned weekend shutdown of service between the Bay Fair and South Hayward stations in early October after the most challenging parts of a track replacement project at the Hayward station were completed ahead of schedule.
Back in early August BART crews began replacing aging track components like rock ballast, wooden ties and track switches near the Hayward station on weekends. BART completed a similar project at the Orinda station earlier this year.
