JERSEY CITY, NJ — The Jersey City library received a $110,000 grant from the state to help fund adult literacy services.
The grant will fund basic adult literacy courses, English As A Second Language courses, and job search assistance.
The Community Library Adult Literacy and Career Pathways program, which is trying to expand adult literacy services in New Jersey.
Libraries recently have partnered with local workforce development providers to help New Jersey residents to get the education and skills necessary to support them and their families.
"Our libraries have always been the cornerstone of our communities, and this program will provide these important partners with resources they need to offer literacy and career services," said New Jersey Labor Commissioner Robert Asaro-Angelo.
