Press release from the Davenport Community Schools: October 15, 2020 On Thursday, October 15, 2020 there was a small fire at the West Family YMCA. There was minimal damage to the YMCA and no damage to West High School other than a faint smoke smell. We are bringing in ionized smoke eaters today to help eliminate the smell. The fire chief at the Davenport Fire Department gave the 'all clear' for West High, and school is in session today with all planned activities still happening tonight.
