I wish to hire a LICENSED STRUCTURAL ENGINEER to guide me in what would be involved to hollow out a basement crawl space that used to be outside the foundation of my home. You can assume this would encompass an informal discussion. A detailed plan can come later for a separate charge. The prior homeowners added an addition to the 3-story home (with an extended foundation) taking away one of the basement bulkheads. The area outside the old bulkhead never had its earth evacuated and is therefore basically unusable. I only have a 3 foot crawl space now to store a few items. I wish to make that area into a full storage room.
