Description

Before any of this happened the truck started and ran fine but here's the story. I have a 1999 ford f-150 which the keys were misplaced so I decided to drill out the existing ignition cylinder to replace it. I bought a cylinder from auto zone but after I put it in the "theft" light was flashing and the truck would not turn over. So it is blinking security code #12 which is for the PATS theft system. At this time the keys that were lost are found. So I took off the PATS and I took the new cylinder and new keys, along with the old cylinder and old keys along with the PATS system to the Ford dealer repair shop. They tell me they can build a new cylinder to fit the old keys which was already programmed for the truck so thats what we do. After the new cylinder is built to fit the old keys I put them in the truck but the problem was still there, still flashing theft code #12. At this point I tell the Ford shop again what is happening and they have me tow it to the shop. After weeks in the shop they tell me, what I already know, "it is the PATS security system" but ford does not make the part anymore so they cannot fix it. Now I can order the part used on ebay but I don't know if the "new" used PATS system will work with my old lock and keys. So does anyone know how to bypass this PATS or somehow to get this truck to start again? The truck is located in Port Angeles, I will pay cash after if you can get it started, feel free to call, text, or email for more info, thanks 360-228-2298
