Description

With a broken heart I write this posting. Baylee is an amazing pup who loves to play, go on long walks, run, ride in the car, hike and just be busy. While our family is quit active we live in an apartment and even with a large patio this does not afford her the space she really needs. Baylee was found on the reservation as a suckling puppy who's mother had disappeared by a family who has cared for her these past few months. Baylee would typically be found under a car as she was so fearful of everything and everyone. She was swayed backed and did not have much strength in her rear legs so even running around was a challenge. Over the past couple of weeks she has gained both weight and strength! She will play, run, bounce and stand at the counter while her food is being prepared. Her back is no longer swayed (I believe from not hiding all day) and she even jumps in the car by her self. Baylee has learned sit, stay, lay down and go around (going around poles and benches while on walks). We aren't sure of her breed we believe she has some Collie (maybe bearded) and husky as this is what was in the area at the time and by her appearance and characteristics. Baylee needs a home with older kids or no kids as she has some herding bread traits like nipping not to hurt anyone but rather to gather/lead them. She has been around a 2-18 year old and she plays rough and does jump so she could be fine with training. I also recommend she is the only dog unless you have experience on introducing dogs. She needs a job, she learns very quickly and consistency is key. She has had one encounter with small dogs the dog nipped her and she has not been a fan since. She has played with big dogs a couple of times but even learning to puppy play has been new as she did not play with other dogs until recently so taking it slow and introducing is important. Baylee is primarily on dry food with a scoop of wet in the morning and evening we have had to introduce wet slowly and have found the Pedigree wet and dry combo has worked best for her tummy. She enjoys bones of all kinds, dog biscuits and treats. Baylee now eats at a normal pace we have had no issues removing bones, food or toys from her mouth while eating or playing. We have worked with her being comfortable with touching her belly (which she loves) her feet, head, ears, mouth and tail and have no issue she doesn't seem bothered. Sorry I know this is long but it is important you know about Baylee and the amount of love, support and work you are committing to. She is an awesome dog and will be a great contribution to your life. Please feel free to reach out with any questions regarding Baylee and just a heads up I will be asking some as well. Thank you.
