SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — A San Juan Capistrano man is under arrest on suspicion of shooting at another man from his car Monday in Dana Point, officials say. Deputies responded to a 911 "shots fired" call at 11 p.m. Monday near Pacific Coast Highway and Doheny Park Plaza in Dana Point, according to OCSD Sgt. Dennis Breckner. According to the reports, two men in two cars were in "an altercation." One of them fired at the other, but what led to the argument was unknown. During the incident, the suspect, San Juan Capistrano resident Abassi Hussein Ahmad, 36, is believed to have shot at the unidentified victim. Ahmad is believed to have "pitched his gun outside the car window." One spent shell casing was found during the investigation at the shooting scene, Breckner tells Patch. Officers were able to locate Ahmad's car and perform a traffic stop. He was arrested without incident and is expected to be charged with attempted murder, possession of a loaded firearm by a felon, among other charges. No one was injured during the incident.
