Press release from the City of Ankeny: 6/8/2020 - 8:31 a.m. The City of Ankeny will start work on the SW State Street Reconstruction – Northbound Lanes project, from SW Ordnance Road to W. First Street, starting the week of June 8, weather permitting, and continuing into fall 2020. This project includes the full depth removal and replacement of the street pavement, reconstruction of storm sewer intakes, and the installation of subdrain along the pavement. The project will be completed in three phases. During the first phase, there will be lane closures in both the northbound and southbound lanes of SW State Street. Access to SW Third Street and SW State Frontage Road from SW State Street will be closed during this time. Separate updates will be issued detailing the second and third stages of construction. For the safety of the construction workers, drivers are encouraged to slow down through the active construction zones.
