My Mom lives on Oahu she uses little water now…. No car to wash, no boat to rinse off she doesn’t water her lawn and doesn’t have a garden, literally she bathes and drinks water and dishes for one! Asking people to cut usage by 10% is crazy! Should she not drink or bathe 3 days a month? BWS should just say NO CAR WASHING and NO HOSING DOWN DRIVEWAYS! and maybe if it gets worse don’t water your yard. Developers should foot the bill for new wells, but they always throw out” well now we can’t build affordable housing” when only a minute amount of what they build is called “AFFORDABLE” sure it is if you make 60k or more. Don’t be fooled drilling more wells is not the answer, 20 plus years ago they said we were over pumping the aquifers, how does drilling more well make more water? If we keep going the only answer will be a desalinization plant to create water from the sea, you think your water bill is high now…. Just wait for the 200% to 400% increase, At some point we have to say NOUGH! Already stop building!
