Description

This iconic Boulder hike is nestled in the Flatirons with spectacular views and some heart-pumping elevation gain. We will start at the Ranger Cottage, which is adjacent to the trailhead. The trail steadily climbs, first traversing a meadow, then winds its way up through alpine forrest, and lastly requires a little scrambling before reaching the Royal Arch. The arch is situated in the Flatirons, providing a perfect place for a picnic/snack on the large boulders, with glorious views of the Front Range and city below. We will start at the trailhead (adjacent to Ranger Cottage) at 10 AM. We will then begin hiking at 10:15. Please note all participants must sign a Release of Liability Waiver or have one on file before we begin. Meet-up Time: 10 AM Distance: 3.1 miles ; Elevation Gain: 1,394 ft. Essentials for this event: warm layers, backpack, med kit, plenty of water, sun protection, a snack, proper foot attire (hiking boots), jogging stroller/carrier (if bringing little kiddos).
