Description

A networking event for those at the intersections of community based healing and psychedelics drug policy. While this event is a free community offering, we do support the generosity of those who are able to purchase paid tickets to support the sustainability of this critical work. Join SPORE on Friday, April 1 for a FREE First Friday community gathering at Honey Elixir Bar from 4-8 PM. From 4-6 we'll just be mixing and building our mycelial network with an open invite to anyone interested in getting plugged in, informed, and more involved in the work to build solidarity in the psychedelic ecosystem here to ensure holistic social change in Colorado, led by Coloradoan communities. At 6 PM we'll transition with a guided prayer and open up a dialogue with Evan Segura, an active community organizer and grassroots advocate out of Portland who has been a firsthand witness to the strides, throws, and pitfalls made by Oregon's I-109, the initiative that established a regulatory framework for psilocybin services in the state of Oregon. As the Natural Medicine Healing Act is pushing policy to set up a similar framework in Colorado, this our opportunity for Coloradoans to learn from Oregon and discuss what solidarity looks like while multiple policy initiatives are being put forth in Colorado. At 8 PM, Honey Elixir Bar will open back up to the public with a live DJ and everyone is welcome to stay and hang out into the night. Looking forward to fooling with you all on April 1! About SPORE SPORE is a not-for-profit organization emerging from the Denver Psilocybin Initiative, the campaign that made Denver the first city in the US to decriminalize psilocybin mushrooms since prohibition. Our M.O. is mycelial organizing, supporting communities in building power, equity, and response-ability towards shaping their destinies as psychedelics become integrated in society. We work to make change at the speed of trust, fostering solidarity and synergy between diverse communities to discover how psychedelic outreach, reform, and education can support collective healing and co-liberation. https://www.thespore.org
