A legend in folk music both in America and abroad, Tim’s incandescent vocals and multi-instrumental versatility rank amongst the best. From the heartbreaking to the rollicking, he weaves together a tapestry of shape note hymnals, ballads, traditional fiddle and banjo, Balkan love songs, and more. A contributor to the Academy Award-winning Cold Mountain soundtrack, Tim has also appeared on Mountain Stage and A Prairie Home Companion. As further testament to his range, he is often cited as the only performer to have shared a stage with both Kurt Cobain and Doc Watson.
