Description
Join us for another wine tasting with Master Sommelier Olivier Flosse featuring Organic & Biodynamic wines to try for Spring. Our tasting will feature five wines classified as either organic or biodynamic. A rosé from Provence, a Malbec from Mendoza, one red from Sicily and two wines from Oregon. Our host will explain each wine's respective climate and terroir and how this can influence the color, aroma, and taste of each wine. Further examination of the farming practices of each vineyard will show the differences such viniculture practices have on their organic classifications. Enjoy this fun and educational event in the comfort of our private tasting room. Cost: $50.00 per person (includes $25 gift card) Light appitezers accompany this event. Special discounts available for all of the featured products after the event. All reservations can be made on Eventbrite or email us at: [email protected] Chateau La Mascarone Rose, Cotes De Provence, 2020 Shimmering salmon skin. Mineral- and spice-accentedred berry and pit fruit scents are complemented by a suave floral topnote. Silky and focused on the palate, offering lively strawberry, blood orange and nectarine flavors that open up slowly with air. Shows fine definition and strong persistence on the penetrating finish. Montinorie, Pinot Gris, Oregon, 2019 The fresh and clean palate offers flavors of citrus, Granny Smith apple, green pear, and a slight grassiness. The acidity is lively and mouthwatering. Tenuta Delle Terre Nere, Etna Rosso, Sicily, 2020 A pretty, albeit informal, expression of Nerello Mascalese. The bouquet offers cassis and plenty of wild rose, with crushed stone and volcanic ash. Built in a lean, mid-weight style; however, fruit in the 2019 vintage shows more richness and concentration overall. Indeed, this edition wears slightly more fruit weight with soft cherry and blackberry at the back. Familia Cecchin, Malbec, Mendoza, 2019 Red pomegranate. Intense. Strawberry and cherries scent. In mouth; gentle tannins, long mouth end, without asperities. An inky, medium-bodied, dry red wine with strong impressions of dark fruits on the nose and palate. A To Z, Pinot Noir, Oregon, 2019 Decent depth, varietal flavor, well-managed tannins—allpresent and accounted for here. There’s a mix of red and blue berries, and a wash of wet stone adding texture to the mouthfeel. The finish falls a bit short, but that’s what separates it from the pricier bottles.
