MIDDLETOWN, RI — Middletown has canceled municipal and probate court sessions in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Municipal court has been canceled as of Tuesday. Probate court is canceled as of Thursday with all cases continued to at least April 2.
The Bulk Waste Amnesty Day on March 28 has also been canceled. For information on curbside bulk waste disposal, visit here.
Middletown Town Hall is closed to the public due to the pandemic. The Tax Assessor's office is extending the filing deadline for senior tax exemptions to May 1. Those who need further assistance are asked to call the Tax Assessor's office at 847-7300. Application forms may be left in the drop box outside Town Hall near the ADA entrance. You can also send scanned forms to [email protected].
Middletown town officials on Sunday announced the closing of the town hall, public library and senior center to the public. Municipal employees will continue to work and will be available by phone and online resources.A full list of phone numbers for each individual department can be found here.
