Description

MIDDLETOWN, RI — Street sweeping in Middletown will begin this week to clean up debris, sand and rocks remaining from the July 14 storm that damaged several town streets and knocked out power to more than 5,000 Rhode Island residents. Portions of Green End Avenue and Miantonomi Avenue were both closed over the past two weeks for repairs due to storm damage. Town streets were flooded with debris, sand and rocks during the storms. The Middletown Department of Public Works will sweep roads over the next two weeks beginning with areas prioritized due to proximity to the public water supply. This week's scheduled sweeping includes the area bounded westerly by Aquidneck Avenue, northerly by Wyatt Road, easterly by Berkeley Avenue and easterly by Easton Bay and Sachuest Bay. The full sweeping schedule can be found here.
