Celebrating Chicago's Very Own, Merri Dee Family and friends of Merri Dee invite you to join them for a public celebration of life at Christ Universal Temple, on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 11 a.m. CST. Christ Universal Temple was founded by Rev. Dr. Johnnie Colemon, the first lady of America’s religious community, who is known for “teaching people how to live better lives.” Merri Dee and Rev. Coleman spent many wonderful times together over the years, lifting one another up in sisterhood. Event Protocols: We shall adhere to all local public health and safety guidelines concerning COVID-19, including optional mask-wearing, social distancing, and more. There will be no repass following the service; instead, the family invites you to know that Merri Dee’s wish was for us to keep her legacy alive through your mentorship, empowerment, philanthropy, and service to others. Our dearly departed sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, friend, professional colleague, and mentor, Merri Dee, was called home on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.
