Join Brian & Joyce Ostberg, of BeHistoric channel, www.youtube.com/c/BeHistoric, to learn about the Chicago Aurora Elgin electric railway
During the early 1900s, communities from Chicago to the Fox River were linked together by one of the first and fastest electric inter-urban railways in the United States - the Chicago, Aurora, & Elgin Railway, headquartered in Wheaton! The former route of the Roarin’ Elgin has been transformed into the scenic and popular Illinois Prairie Path. Join Brian and Joyce Ostberg, creators of the BeHistoric YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/c/BeHistoric, to learn about the railway’s history and its traces, still discoverable along the former trackway. The talk will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 7 pm at the Wheaton Public Library. The event is free and open to the public although registration is required at the library’s registration page https://wheatonlibrary.org/event/history-chicago-aurora-elgin-railway
