Master Gardener extraordinaire Dan Mays shares his deep knowledge & experience growing native in a residential setting
This event is open to Wild Ones QC members and QC Master Gardeners only.
A 45-minute presentation about introducing native plants into a residential landscape will precede a guided tour of the grounds. This home landscape features three rain gardens and French drains instead of gutters. A plethora of native plants will be shown, discussed, and evaluated. Commonsense landscape design with natives will be emphasized.
Dan Mays is a popular naturalist known throughout the greater QC region. A lifetime Master Gardener, he describes himself as "just a clod-kicker from Dirt Ranch, Iowa". Don't let his modesty minimize his depth of horticulture, landscape design, and native plant knowledge. Dan will eloquently share an informative, entertaining program & tour of his residential gardens focusing less on "what you ought to do" and more on sharing his personal experience -- both good and bad.
