Join us for a fun and connective experience integrating the local plants around us and their many serving benefits! Join us in the courtyard at The Churchill for the SUNDAZE workshop series with Megan the Herbalist. Together, we'll dive into the art of salve-making working with desert plants. We'll learn the basics of salve-creation and why it's an important ointment to have in your pantry. In this 1-hour workshop we'll review the indigenous plants and the art of wildcrafting with reverence. We'll be working with desert plants and the elements to create a salve you can use at home. Desert plants include Creosote Bush (Chaparral), Jojoba, Brittle Bush (Encelia) and Calendula. We'll gather outside on the corner of 1st Street and Garfield at Megan the Herbalist's booth space. You'll leave knowing -what plants to work with and which parts of the plants to harvest -the beneficial properties of each plant -where plant materials can be found -how to prepare herbal oil (combining oil + beeswax) -the importance of labeling -salves in action (when and how to work with salve ointments) each guest will leave with personal 1 oz salve Desert Salve Making Deets When: Sunday, April 10 at 11 a.m. Where: The Courtyard @TheChurchillPhx (901 N 1st Street Phx, Az 85004) What to bring: please bring a willingness to learn, a cushion to sit on and a sense of discovery! Meet Megan the Herbalist Sun kissed and starry eyed I found myself most authentically in the desert. After many years of exhausting myself with jobs that only stirred up personal and internal resistance, herbalism found me in the fall of 2018. As a brand new mother at that time, I dove heart first into the beautiful and divine offerings of Mother Nature, healing my trauma state through herbs, I knew I had finally found my path home. Now nearly 4 years later I am blessed to be guided, nourished & evolving with plant medicine in such an impactful way.
