This immersive experience will help both longtime residents and newcomers understand how Detroit’s history shaped where we are today. Detroit is a complicated city. It has tons of amazing assets but also faces many challenges. One thing is for sure, Detroit is much more than headlines and stereotypes. On this learning journey, you will be taken around the city by an expert guide who will provide context and local insight into Detroit's neighborhoods, small businesses, and community projects. You’ll also meet residents and local leaders who are coming up with innovative solutions to the challenges the city faces. This immersive experience will help both longtime residents and newcomers understand how Detroit’s history shaped where we are today, connect with what’s happening now, and be inspired to be a part of building an equitable and thriving Detroit. Tour includes continental breakfast, lunch, and motorcoach transportation. COVID-19: Everyone is required to wear a mask while traveling on the bus. Masks are also required during the entire tour for participants that are not vaccinated against COVID-19, and suggested for those that are vaccinated. CHECK-IN: The tour begins promptly at the start time. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of the tour and check in with your guide. PARKING: Free street parking on W. Grand Blvd and Beaubien Streets as well as paid parking in the adjacent lot for $9/day via Metropolis Parking App. TICKETING: No need to print your ticket. Arrive a few minutes early to check-in and give the guide your name. That's it! If your plans change and you can't make it, please cancel your booking to open up your spot to another participant.
