Description

Press release from the City of Memphis: March 21, 2022 City of Memphis contractor crews continue to remove tree debris impacted during last month's winter ice storm. As a reminder, contractors will be inspecting every city street to identify and trim hazardous trees or limbs overhanging in the public right of way (sidewalk and street). What can you expect? • If a tree is damaged/hazardous and located within the public right of way, it will be trimmed by the contractor • During right of way tree trimming, contractors will leave any trimmed trees curbside and a separate debris removal contractor will collect this during the sweep of that area • Public alleys will also be inspected and treated similarly We would like to remind residents that storm debris pickup is ongoing and regular curbside pickup standards are still in place for all non-storm debris placed outside of the cart. Please continue to separate storm debris (trees and other vegetation) from other bulk outside the cart solid waste collection, to allow us to divert it from the landfill. Commingling of storm debris with other bulk solid waste could result in collection delays. Please do not place any debris in the roadway. This press release was produced by the City of Memphis.
