SD Children's Discovery Museum Names New Executive Director

ESCONDIDO, CA — San Diego Children's Discovery Museum has a new executive director. Krishna Kabra, who has more than 20 years of experience in insights, innovation and marketing strategy in the corporate world, will lead the Escondido-based museum. "I am so thrilled to be part of San Diego Children's Discovery Museum," Kabra said. "These are incredibly unprecedented times for all organizations. However, at the museum we see it as an opportunity to be in a 'chrysalis state' — an enterprising opportunity to pivot into new areas of early childhood education and enrichment and, most important, deliver what parents really need during these incredibly challenging times." As part of two agencies, Kabra previously worked on some of the largest brands including Coca-Cola, Wrigley, Unilever and L'Oréal. Kabra, who previously served on the board of directors of San Diego Children's Discovery Museum, has chosen to pivot her career to work at a nonprofit. "The board anticipates that working with Krishna will be a joy-filled exercise in discovery," said Kimberlie Dunham, board chair of San Diego Children's Discovery Museum. "Krishna is the epitome of a creative thinker. Combined with her passion for reimagining and transformation, Krishna's innovative nature bodes well for the future of not just San Diego Children's Discovery Museum, but the entire children's museum community. We are excited to work with her through this and all future phases of the museum's existence." Kabra replaces Wendy Taylor, the museum's outgoing executive director, who has accepted a position in her home state of Texas as executive director of the Don Harrington Discovery Center in Amarillo. "I'm excited," Kabra said. "There is tremendous scope for growth at the museum, and I can't wait to be at the helm of a much-needed renaissance." The San Diego Children's Discovery Museum is at 320 N Broadway in Escondido.
