EAST PROVIDENCE, RI—East Providence announced on Monday that Weaver Library located at 41 Grove Avenue is closed until further notice after a library staff member tested positive for coronavirus. The Riverside Branch located at 475 Bullocks Point Avenue and the Fuller Creative Learning Center located at 260 Dover Avenue have also closed as a precaution. "The positive staff member is currently in isolation," said the library in a statement. "All library employees have followed stringent safety protocols for months, but will be tested and will follow the Rhode Island Dept. of Health's guidelines before returning to work. During the closure, Weaver Library will be fully disinfected for the safety and wellbeing of the staff and the community at large." "Contact tracing has begun and all staff members who came in contact with the employee will remain in quarantine and will follow the Rhode Island Dept. of Health's guidelines," said a press release from the Mayor's office. Although the library has closed its buildings, all online services and virtual programs remain available at www.eastprovidencelibrary.org.
