Coronavirus: East Providence Looks To Survey Small Businesses

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — The East Providence Mayor's Office, Department of Planning & Economic Development and Chamber of Commerce are asking small businesses to fill out a short survey on the impact of the coronavirus pandemic thus far. The survey's intent is to identify and support the needs of the small business community during this crisis. Answers will be kept private unless a follow-up is specifically requested. East Providence is finalizing details of its emergency loan fund to benefit cash flow issues. Loans will be funded through existing city-administered federal Urban Development Action Grant and Community Development Block Grant programs. The city plans to coordinate with the Rhode Island Small Business Administration and area banks to maximize benefits to local business.
