Need Goats that will eventually grow big in size

I'm from the east and we enjoy goat meat, and I was thinking why don't I buy some off someone and let them grow in my backyard, I've got an acre. You know any place, where I can get a couple of them cheap, Thanks for your input Oh, speaking of which I'm also looking for chickens who lay eggs, I'm thinking 5 female 1 male to keep them happy, is that the right ratio?
