Emersyn Rowles Benefit Dinner (Amazing raffle items, silent auction items, and a 50/50 the night of the event!) Emersyn Rowles (Emmy) is a 16-year-old from Lewiston who was diagnosed with T cell myeloid mixed Phenotype acute leukemia in August 2019 at Boston Childrens Hospital. After 2 months of intense chemotherapy the doctors said That they couldn’t cure her cancer and she was sent home on hospice care. 28 hours later she was taken by ambulance back to Boston children’s and admitted for a lung infection in which a chest tube was placed. 10 days later to our surprise a bone marrow biopsy revealed she was in remission from her leukemia for the first time. The doctors told us the only way to cure her cancer was a bone marrow transplant. In February 2020 she received the gift of life via bone marrow transplant from her little brother, Grady, as her donor. Unfortunately, one month later, with much devastation, she relapsed. Emmy has continued on treatment from March 2020 through February 2022 with no breaks in an attempt to keep her cancer at bay. All of her treatment taking place at BCH/Dana Farber cancer Institute in Boston. A bone marrow biopsy in February 2022 revealed that she had a new clone population of leukemia that was increasing at a rapid rate. Emmy is currently in BCH undergoing yet another round of intense chemotherapy. This time she sustained damage to her kidneys and liver which are both being treated. She continues to amaze us with her strength and resilience as she fights the good fight! She has been fighting leukemia for 2 years and 7 months spending over 200 days inpatient at BCH. Again, with no breaks in treatment, she has had 20 bone marrow biopsies with lumbar punctures and 75 blood transfusions. Emmy is a sophomore at Lewiston high school. She has been homeschooled since the beginning of her 8th grade year when she was diagnosed. Her family, friends, teachers, and community continue to rally behind Emmy! They have proven to be the strongest supporters of #TeamEmmy as Emmy has proven to be every ounce of #EmmyStrong! 🧡💛 Our goal is to help raise funds to help with medical care and anything else Emmy and her family may need! Please join us Friday, May 6 from 4:30pm- 6:30pm for dinner at The Green Ladle. Dinner will be $15 per person with 100% of proceeds going to Emmy and her family!
