Fundraiser for Joe Shamy's daughter! $25/person, or $125/table (purchase 5 tickets, and the 6th will be free) Join us for an evening of food, fun, and fundraising for Joe Shamy’s daughter, Madeline. Here's what's going on with Madeline... There are joints in between your upper and lower jaw. Madeline‘s joints on the right side are gone causing avascular necrosis. This means her bone is dying in her jaw. They can do a joint replacement, but at the young age of 14, Madeline would have to have it done four or five more times in her life with multiple side effects. The procedure in Florida takes fat out of her stomach and puts it where the joint was. Her body will not reject it, and it will turn into her new joint, saving the bones in her jaw and being the only time that the surgery has to be done. They have been doing the surgery for almost 30 years and have never had to redo any procedures. There is a 15 month recovery time for Madeline and five trips to Florida. The travel costs, and this procedure, which is not covered by our insurance, will cost them over 70k. The surgery is scheduled for Wednesday, June 8 or Thursday, June 9.
