Join local tenor, Christon Carney, at the College of the Holy Cross for an evening of art song celebrating the contributions Langston Hughes has made to art song. Best known for his work during the Harlem Renaissance, the text written by Langston Hughes becomes a treasure trove for composers of all colors. The program will include works by Robert Owens, Jean Berger, Leslie Adams, female black composers such as Florence Price and Margaret Bonds, and Worcester’s own Leonardo Ciampa, who will also be at the piano.
