Grab your funkiest threads, a JBL speaker, and join the Walking Disco Party Patrol as we stroll through downtown Fredericksburg!
Walking Disco is the next advance in mobile party technology. Invented by Seth Casana, it's a self-contained, battery-powered DJ rig strapped to his chest—controller, speakers, lights, and all.
The sound is produced by a bluetooth speaker, a JBL Xtreme 2 to be specific. These babies have a secret ability: they can link up with other JBL speakers to broadcast the same music. Up to 100 of these speakers can be bumping the same Walking Disco beats simultaneously!
For this April Fool's First Friday, we're trying to get as many people on the Party Patrol as possible. All you have to do is dress in your funkiest outfit, bring a fully charged JBL speaker, and be ready to dance. We will congregate in Market Square for about an hour, then proceed to spread the Walking Disco vibes throughout the streets of downtown Fredericksburg!
Only speakers with the JBL Connect+ protocol will be compatible at the Walking Disco Party Patrol (not the standard JBL Connect or JBL PartyBoost protocols). Here is a list of compatible speakers:
