Author Amere Dozier participated in an over the phone interview earlier today with KPCK radio. He announced that the release date for his book, “Counterfeit” will be pushed back due to the coronavirus and the death of George Floyd.“We need this book to be highly anticipated because it’s not like the others I’ve released,” Dozier stated. “With how wild 2020 is as of right now people’s attention are just in more important places and I respect that. With that being said I just feel pushing the release date back to August 1 would be the best move.”Dozier’s new book, Counterfeit was suppose to be released tomorrow.“When the coronavirus came about you wouldn’t believe how many signing venues called to cancel,” Dozier said about his 2020 summer tour. “I’ll just take this time to tweak the story a little more and get another tour together.”The Bandit Boyz series author is expected to release his fifth book this year. He mentioned in the interview that the book will be released this year regardless of any situation. The author also talked about how he felt about George Floyd’s death and the riots. He concluded the interview by saying, “Condolences to Floyd’s family. That’s somebody’s son, dad, and friend at the end of the day. With as vocal as black people are I don’t know why it took this long for people to start listening. You can read about it in my books. You can see it in movies and on TV. We’ve been speaking up. Police brutality and racism has been a problem. I hope we can get this together as a country.”
