Press release from Port Jefferson School District: March 25, 2022 The results are in and Port Jefferson Middle School has been ranked in the 2021-22 New York Mathematics League contest. The sixth grade team – Hayden Chesler, Samuel Fabian, Brian Hyrycz, Nila Manian and Lucas Smirnov – ranked fourth in Nassau and Suffolk counties. The seventh grade team – Benjamin Batter, Jonah Boerboom, Joshua Kwon, Isaac Rubenstein and Kenshin Sugimoto – ranked third in Nassau and Suffolk. Port Jefferson School District Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Robert Neidig congratulated the students and lauded math teachers Megan Roth-Ueno, Megan Ryan and Jamie Veraldi for their daily efforts in encouraging students to explore mathematical ideas and solve complex problems.
