EAST GREENWICH, RI — East Greenwich fire crews responded to a garbage truck that caught fire on Wednesday afternoon. Crews reported at one point that the cab of the truck was fully engulfed in flames. The fire closed Route 4 North while crews battled the blaze. East Greenwich: E2, L1 responding to Rt4 North at Division for a Garbage Truck on Fire.— IAFF Local 3328 (@IAFFLocal3328) April 22, 2020 It was a busy day on the roads all around for the town as East Greenwich police said that Middle Road from South County Trail to East Greenwich High School was closed early Wednesday afternoon due to a tree down in the road. The tree also took down power lines. East Greenwich police said National Grid crews were on scene early Wednesday afternoon.
