STAMFORD, CT — A 33-year-old man faces a series of illegal gun and drug charges after police said they conducted a two-week investigation which culminated in an arrest on Thursday. Toney Jordan, of Stamford, was arrested Thursday morning and charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of ammunition, possession of a high capacity magazine, weapons in a motor vehicle and possession of narcotics with intent to sell, according to Capt. Richard Conklin of the Stamford Police Department. "After this two-week investigation, Narcotics and Organized Crime units had information Jordan was carrying an illegal handgun in his vehicle," Conklin said. Officers surveilled Jordan in the area of Omega Drive in Stamford at his place of work around 10 a.m. Thursday, Conklin said. "As he left his place of work in a company van, he was stopped and detained," Conklin added. A search warrant on Jordan's car found a loaded Springfield Armory 9 mm semi-automatic handgun in the locked glove box, according to Conklin. He said officers also found 6.5 grams of crack cocaine in the sunglasses holder. Jordan was given a $150,000 bond, but because he's a convicted felon on parole until 2026, he was remanded to custody, Conklin said. "These are substantial charges, especially with Jordan's background," Conklin said, noting that Jordan has prior gun and drug convictions. "This was a nice case by Narcotics and Organized Crime."
