Description
Join us for an Earth Day celebration and meet one of nature’s most incredible birds – the Peregrine Falcon. (Recommended for ages 5+)
Jackie Fallon, wildlife biologist, master falconer, and educator for over 30 years, will bring a live peregrine to Quarry Hill to help us learn why this raptor represents power, independence, and strength. See up close this raptor’s striking physical markings, hear about their record breaking speed, and develop an admiration for their dedication as parents!
This program will include activity tables for families to learn more about the birds we call raptors: falcons, hawks, and owls. Practice identifying raptors by shape and flight, examine contents of owl pellets to determine what was for dinner, take a visit to Quarry Hill’s Exploration Hall to see additional raptors, and go home with activity guides.
There is no fee for this program. Space is limited to 40. Advance registration is required. (24 mo and older must be registered) Recommended for ages 5+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
