WAUKESHA, WI — The ex-Waukesha County Supervisor accused of seven felonies disputed her charges in a Walworth County courthouse on Tuesday, according to a report. Kathleen Cummings pleaded not guilty to her charges at the Walworth County Circuit Court on Tuesday, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported. Cummings is accused of five counts of falsely swearing in a government setting and two counts of falsifying election documents, court records showed. She is due back in court on June 1, 2022. Prosecutors said the former alderwoman didn't live in her home district for nine years, the criminal complaint said. Cummings' attorney tried to dismiss the complaint, but the court denied the motion. She served as an alderwoman for District 9 for 20 years and county supervisor for District 19 for 22 years. She resigned in November 2021 but didn't give reasons in her resignation letter. Her county seat will remain open through the April election, Waukesha County Board Chairman Paul Decker told Patch.
