Board of Health News Corner The Board of Health will transition their weekly COVID-19 update to a bi-weekly general Board of Health update. These updates will continue to include any relevant COVID-19 information but will also include information about health topics and Board of Health permitting. Please contact the Health Department at (781) 751-9220 with any questions. Upcoming Board of Health Permitting With Spring here, the following Board of Health permits will be expiring and require renewal: Domestic Animals (chickens) – expire June 30th Pools and Whirlpools/Spas – expire June 30th Saunas and Steam Rooms – expire June 30th Tanning Facilities – expire June 30th Waste Hauler and Septic Installer – expire June 30th Other businesses such as Farmers Market food vendors and recreational camp for children operators must also apply for permits before beginning seasonal operations. Please contact the Health Department at (781) 751-9220 or visit the Department's website at www.dedham-ma.gov/departments/health for more information. Household Hazardous Waste Day The next Household Hazardous Waste Day will be on Saturday, April 30, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Department of Public Works (55 River Street). The following items will be accepted: oil paint, pool chemicals, motor vehicle chemicals, pesticides, antifreeze, fluorescent light bulbs, gasoline, household chemicals, mercury thermometers, 1 pound propane cylinders, and rechargeable batteries. The following items will NOT be accepted: latex paint, fire extinguishers, motor vehicle batteries, appliances, tires, and propane tanks. Stay safe and be kind!
