McKEESPORT, PA — A suspect in a New Year's Eve triple homicide in Pittsburgh now is in custody. Ronald Steave was arrested in McKeesport Thursday by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the U.S. Marshal's Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force and Pittsburgh and McKeesport police. Steave, 29, of Pittsburgh, is charged with three counts of Criminal Homicide and Violation of Uniform Firearms Act, Person not to Possess a Firearm. Steave was wanted in connection with the fatal shootings of Nandi Fitzgerald, Tatiana Hill, both 28, and Denzel Nowlin, 12, in the 7500 block of Hamilton Avenue in Homewood on December 31. Steave and Fitzgerald had been in a relationship; Nowlin was Fitzgerald's son. Police had been looking for Steave since November to question him about the death of his son, Ajani Lane, 4, in an East Liberty residence. The boy apparently shot himself in the face with an unsecured gun at the home. Be the first to know what's happening in your community and region.
