Sopranos Stars Will Attend Free Danny Aiello Tribute In Hoboken

HOBOKEN, NJ — Late actor Danny Aiello loved to spend time in Hoboken, and filmed videos and movies there, so it's no surprise that a free tribute event for the late actor will be held in the mile-square city this Thursday evening. It will include at least two stars from "The Sopranos" TV show. The event is open to the public. The tribute will include a screening of the 1991 comedy film "29th Street," starring Aiello. Hoboken-based film producer and director Frank Gigante, who interviewed Aiello for a documentary he's working on, is one of the organizers of the tribute, along with Federico Castelluccio, Nicky Petito, Michael DeGennaro, Artie Pasquale, and Freddy Tenore. Castelluccio, who played poor, lonely Furio on the Sopranos, will attend, as well as Pasquale, who played Burt Gervasi. Other co-stars may attend. Gigante said, "Danny touched each one of our lives, by his humility and the person that he was." Aiello passed away in December at age 86. The event will be held at the Bow Tie Cinema at 409-415 14th St. in Hoboken. There is limited seating, first come, first served. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the film starts at 7.
