PROVIDENCE, RI — After a weeklong closure, Rhode Island's indoor sports facilities can reopen starting Monday, with stricter regulations in place, Gov. Gina Raimondo announced Thursday. Under the new rules, two spectators will be allowed at youth sports games, both indoor and outdoor. Masks must be worn at all times by both spectators and athletes, including at practices and scrimmages. Stricter enforcement will also be required in locker rooms, where team members often gather without masks. Sports have been separated into three categories based on the level of danger: low, medium and high risk for coronavirus transmission.
